Cherish the past to create a better future

The property is a Grade 2 listed building, the original timber-framed building 17th Century, with alterations and additions 19th Century and 20th century.

The property is part of the Greene King portfolio of Public Houses, with the new leaseholder being Peach Pubs Co. We have a long and strong working relationship with both businesses, and in this instance carried out building repairs for Greene King and a full refurbishment for Peach Pubs.

The pub had been closed following the Covid-19 pandemic and suffered from no heating, lack of general maintenance, vandalism, and theft.

The project commenced in April 2022, and we were on site for 12 weeks in total.

Works included re-roofing, a new heating system, structural alterations to install Bi-folding aluminium doors, new fireplaces with log burners, a complete new commercial kitchen, new bar counter, all new internal finishes, electrical install, and air conditioning.

Externally redecorations of the building included completely new garden landscaping, large timber structures and pavings.

It was a challenging but incredibly rewarding project to bring this old pub back to life, with respect and sympathy to cherish the past and carefully integrate the new.
